STORE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
2320 W. Lincoln Avenue - Open Monday through Friday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm,
Saturday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Did you know that the SVDP store distributes merchandise valued at more than
$500,000 to those in need in Milwaukee annually? The store needs volunteers to help
in many areas to continue to help us help others. No amount of time given is too small.
We always have things to be done. Individuals and groups are welcome!
WASH AND SORT GLASSWARE
Help us sort through and clean all the carts of glassware we have stacked up
in the basement waiting to be put on the store shelves. All supplies are provided
for this activity. Only a couple of hours a week would really help!
CLOTHING HANGER
We have hundreds and hundreds of sorted clothing pieces that need to be hung on
racks before taking them to the sales floor.
SORT CLOTHING AND OTHER DONATIONS
Help us sort into carts the good donated items from the not so good items.
TEST/CLEAN SMALL APPLIANCES
No special skills required. Just plug in appliances to see if they work and
polish them up before sending them to the sales floor.
STOCKING/CLEANING SHELVES
To help keep the store a nice place to shop we need volunteers to stock the shelves
and to keep them neat and clean.
ASSEMBLING/REPAIRING FURNITURE
Assess furniture for necessary minor repairs or adjustments. Help make the items
as attractive as possible for the sales floor.
CUSTOMER RELATIONS
Volunteer on the sales floor to welcome and greet customers and assist them in having
a positive shopping experience. Requires a friendly smile and a willingness to interact
with others. Assist friends coming into the store with certificates to find the
merchandise they are eligible for and help them during the checkout process. Use
your creative skills for our various seasonal and holiday related events.
